EDWARDSVILLE — World Milk Day is Thursday, June 1, and one Edwardsville-based company is doing their part with a hefty donation.
Prairie Farms said in a Tuesday press release the company plans to donate three pallets of milk to the St. Louis Area Foodbank in honor of the global awareness day.
The St. Louis Area Foodbank serves the entire region and is located in Bridgeton, Missouri, in North St. Louis County.
“The donation is in honor of our dairy farm families for their essential role in providing milk and dairy products to American families for 85 years,” Prairie Farms said in a statement. “We’re kicking off Dairy Month in a big way by partnering with 28 Feeding America® network foodbanks across mid-America to donate 85 pallets of milk on World Milk Day.”
Prairie Farms acquired Dean Foods in 2020 and has popular brands under its ownership including Muller Pinehurst Dairy, Hiland Dairy Foods and Ice Cream Specialties.
