Smart Scripts sold fake diabetes drug, lawsuit says

An Iowa-based pharmacy is accused of selling fake Ozempic to a Michigan company.According to a lawsuit filed in Washington County, Smart Scripts sold Central Pharmacy Management counterfeit Ozempic, a diabetes drug often used for weight loss. The Michigan company learned the drugs they bought were fake from a Food and Drug Administration agent.CPM says they reached out to Smart Scripts, who said they were working to resolve the issue, but CPM says they did not hear back.The Michigan company is suing for breach of contract, negligence and fraud, among other counts.Smart Scripts spoke to KCCI on Wednesday afternoon. An Iowa-based pharmacy is accused of selling fake Ozempic to a Michigan company.

According to a lawsuit filed in Washington County, Smart Scripts sold Central Pharmacy Management counterfeit Ozempic, a diabetes drug often used for weight loss. The Michigan company learned the drugs they bought were fake from a Food and Drug Administration agent.
