Fire damages Scarborough, Maine cannabis business

Crews quickly put out a fire at a cannabis facility in Scarborough on Sunday.Firefighters were called to 10 Snow Canning Road at about 10 a.m. after fire alarms started going off.When firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke inside the 76,000-square-foot building that houses multiple businesses. The Maine Cannabis Shop is listed as a tenant there.Firefighters determined there was an active fire on the second floor and the sprinkler system was going off. Officials say the sprinklers helped contain the fire to just one room and limited damage to just the single unit. There were people in the building at the time, but everyone got out safely.Firefighters were on scene for about two hours. Investigators from the State Fire Marshal’s Office were also called to the scene because the fire was in a commercial building.
