Med school, other projects help region find its place in life sciences

Life sciences is a growth industry in North Carolina but primarily in the Research Triangle, fueled by that region’s cluster of research universities, medical schools and technology-oriented economy. The Charlotte region enters 2023 with a sudden influx of life-science opportunities, led by Eli Lilly & Co.’s $1 billion manufacturing campus underway in Concord. A new med school and other medical innovation investments on the horizon could change the equation.
