Cannabis fest Extravaganja returns to Greenfield

Organizers of the cannabis festival Extravaganja welcomed thousands of attendees to their celebration of all things marijuana at the Franklin County Fairgrounds in Greenfield on Saturday.

Extravaganja began as a rally for legalizing marijuana, but today focuses on celebrating and educating the public on the drug, organizers said.

The history of Extravaganja goes back to the early 1990s when cannabis devotees protested over the prohibition of cannabis while celebrating the drug and educating the public about the substance that was once barred across all levels of government.
