Community packs Royale Flower Dispensary for first “Harvest Fest”
Albany — New York’s cannabis community hosted its first-ever Harvest Fest on Saturday, with multiple New York cannabis brands in attendance.
The State’s cannabis rollout has been heavily criticized, but growers expressed some optimism at Saturday’s event.
“The rollout has been very difficult because of a lot of different programs,” Christine Richardson, owner of Royale Flower, says. “But now I think the rollout is much nicer and they are opening a lot of dispensaries in the Capital Region. I think you are going to see a lot of growth of cannabis in the Capital Region.”
On Friday, the State celebrated the opening of its 200th dispensary, High Society located in Glens Falls. In October 2023, just about 20 dispensaries had opened statewide.
Saturday’s event included networking activities, while highlighting premium lab-tested cannabis products as well, with dozens in attendance.
