Del. cannabis retailers rack up $7.3-million in first month of sales | The Latest from WDEL News
The Office of the Marijuana Commissioner is announcing strong results from the first month of recreational marijuana sales.
Since opening August 1st, the market has shown steady growth across all three counties, with consumers demonstrating broad interest in a variety of products including flower, vapes, edibles, pre-rolls, tinctures, and topicals. Total retail sales for the month were more than $7.3-million. Officials said that underscores the successful launch of Delaware’s adult-use cannabis market.
OMC provided this summary:

Total Retail Sales: $7,354,293
Usable Cannabis (flower): $4,065,032 largest category, 55% of retail sales
Cultivation Metrics
Total Plant Count: 109,412
Strain Metrics

Since Marijuana Commissioner Joshua Sanderlin took office in May, the office has issued 79 conditional licenses and 3 active licenses.
“The office continues its work to strengthen and expand the market. Additional approvals are expected in the coming months, and the state will soon begin distributing Social Equity Financial Assistance (SEFA) Grants to support social equity licensees as they move toward operations. A full review of program regulations is also underway to ensure Delaware’s cannabis industry grows safely, sustainably, and equitably,” OMC said in a statement Tuesday.
