Eastview Mall cannabis dispensary approved in Victor
Good Life owner: Had strong plan to open weed dispensary in Rochester
It took years, but now this Puerto Rican family has opened the first permanent legal dispensary in Rochester city limits.
Good Life Collective recently received approval from Victor Planning Board to operate a store in Eastview Mall.
The cannabis retail dispensary has stores in Canandaigua, which opened a year ago, and Rochester, which opened in 2024 as the city’s first state-licensed dispensary.
Victor is already home to two other cannabis dispensaries. FingerLakes Cannabis Co. opened in 2024 in the village. Flower City Weed Dispensary opened in late 2024 near the mall on state Route 96.
Here’s more of what we know now and, importantly, what is not publicly known as of yet about a dispensary opening in the mall.
Concerns from Victor officials
Victor board members on Feb. 24 approved the store in a 3-2 vote. Their concerns ranged from potential odors to sales of cannabis products to minors to security.
In responding to concerns of the board, Good Life Collective co-owner Hiram Hernandez told board members that no consumption will be allowed on site. Products are prepackaged.
Customers have to be 21 and older in order to enter the store, which unlike other stores in the mall, will have doors, Hernandez said.
“We definitely police our area,” Hernandez told the board.
Mall officials told the Planning Board that security is already in place but could be increased if the need arises.
What does Good Life Collective offer?
Good Life Collective offers products with New York-grown cannabis such as flowers, drinks, tinctures and edibles.
Cash or debit cards will be accepted. Hernandez said the average transaction is $56.
The store will operate roughly the same hours as the mall, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.
What we don’t know about the Eastview Mall dispensary
A timetable for when the store will open was not offered during the most recent board meeting.
Messages left for further comment to Wilmorite, which owns the mall, and Hernandez were not immediately returned.
Two new stores, Newbury Comics and Mouna Jewelry, are expected to open in the mall this spring.
