Town offers prescription medication disposal at Drug Take Back Day
JACKSON, Wyo. — The Town of Jackson is hosting a drug take back event on Wednesday, Oct. 22.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., residents can dispose of prescription and over-the-counter medications in the Jackson Town Hall parking lot at 150 East Pearl Ave. According to a Facebook post shared by Teton County Health Department, all medications in pill, liquid or inhaler form will be accepted. Sharps and syringes cannot be disposed of at this event.
“Timely disposal of prescription medicine can reduce the risk of others taking the medication accidentally or misusing the medication intentionally,” the social media post reads.
National Prescription Drug Take Back Day falls on the last Saturday of October. According to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the designation aims to provide a safe, convenient and responsible way to dispose of medications that are expired or unused.
