Valentine’s Day cannabis deals at Sacramento dispensaries
Hybrid marijuana buds are shown at A Therapeutic Alternative in Sacramento. Thirty medical dispensaries in the city could eventually be licensed to sell recreational pot under Proposition 64, but it probably won’t happen by Jan. 1.

For many American adults, this Valentine’s Day is about love and weed.
A new study by Wired Research assessed the shifting attitude towards cannabis in the United States, finding that more people are accepting, interested and using weed.
The survey, funded by Verano Holdings Corporation, a multi-state cannabis company, found that more than 60% — about 148 million Americans — plan to either use weed or gift it this holiday. Around 19 million people will ditch champagne and toast with weed.
Results are based on surveys sent out to 961 individuals 21 and over.
“The overall findings of the survey show a significant shift in American adults’ attitudes towards cannabis,” according to the study’s news release, “signaling a reduction in stigma and increased acceptance of cannabis use.”
It also found that cannabis interest and usage was more likely in the Northeast region, including Connecticut, New York, Vermont and New Jersey. This could be due to, according to the study, the introduction of legal recreational weed programs and accessibility.
