West Tennessee Healthcare announces new AI technology to assist patients, doctors
JACKSON, Tenn. — Healthcare specialists are sharing some new advanced technology that could help patients.
West Tennessee Healthcare announced their official launch of artificial intelligence technology that will assist patients and doctors in the operating room.
“The technology has been around for about 14 years. Qventus is one of the first to involve AI technology and streamline technology in the healthcare operations space, specifically in surgery. We’ve been doing this for about 5 years,” said David Astashroo Chief Medical Officer with Qventus.
Astashroo shares how this technology will help both doctors and patients with scheduling surgeries.
“Often times patients have to wait for surgeons next available block time to get on the schedule. What we’ve been able to do at West Tennessee is move patients surgeries up so they can get action secured faster and agents in West Tennessee–even things like being able to have patients schedule up to two months earlier and being able to be in surgery in June instead of September,” said Astashroo.
Melissa Hayden, Executive Director of Surgical Services for West Tennessee Healthcare shares how this collaboration will make an impact.
“It’s all exciting because the way we have always done it doesn’t have to be the way we do it in the future. It’s exciting to modernize our processes, modernize our technology, and the offerings we can give to the community and our surgeons,” said Hayden.
Officials say AI scheduling was soft launched earlier this year in May and has continued to do well.
“So I do think this is a partnership we are excited about and I’m excited to see where it grows for our hospital, for our surgeons–for our community. Qventus has been a great partner thus far and really enable us to care for patients better and that’s our goal,” said Hayden.
Both doctors share that their goal is to continue to make both the patients in surgeons happy with better communication.
